UV Beads
These UV beads do not look particularly interesting indoors, but when you take them out in the sun you will be surprised! They contain a special molecule that changes color when exposed to ultraviolet light and they work even when it is cloudy outside.
Use them to detect UV-radiation while making bracelets or shaping small animals. The UV beads can also be used to show how sunglasses and sun protection protect against UV radiation.
Without UV light, the UV beads go back to their original white color and according to our experience, can be used for several years without permanently discolouring. When you bring the beads into the shade again, the molecules turn back and the beads turn white. If you put the beads in a cold environment, the molecules will have problems turning back. Then they keep the color longer.
