This is what you need to do:
1.Place the two blocks next to each other, with a rubber ring on each block.
2. Insert an ice cube or a snowball into the rubber ring on both blocks.

The cold block is made of aluminum. The second block is made of wood. Aluminum conducts heat well, while wood contains air. When you put ice on the aluminum block, the heat from the block quickly enters the ice so it melts. The wooden block, on the other hand, contains a lot of air, which makes it difficult for the heat to penetrate. Therefore, it takes a long time before the ice melts on the wooden block.
